Earth mined diamonds
We at Be Jolie exclusively use only 100% Natural earth mined diamonds, simply because they retain their price and value compared to their counterparts, e.g. lab grown diamonds.
The difference is due to supply. Natural diamond supply is limited, due to the billions of years it takes for nature to create a diamond. Yet with synthetic diamonds, there is no cap on the supply, which drives the price lower and lower as supply goes up.
The price of lab-grown diamonds is falling at an alarming rate and shows no signs of stopping or reversing. Take this into account when making your purchase.

Cleaning
This complimentary service is offered over the lifetime of your ring and not only ensures that your diamonds or gemstones are cleaned, but it also includes routinely checking (every six months) that the stones are secure in their settings. Professional Cleaning
A professional cleaning is recommended as frequently as once a year, depending on how often you wear your jewelry. Between professional cleanings, most jewelry can be maintained with a nonabrasive jewelry cleaner.

What To Avoid
Avoid exposing gold jewelry to household bleach, which will quickly cause gold to discolor and possibly disintegrate. Sterling silver tarnishes rapidly when exposed to salty air, swimming pool chlorine and products containing sulfur, such as rubber gloves and certain papers. Take care to protect your jewelry from impact against hard surfaces and avoid contact with abrasive surfaces—even a diamond can chip if hit with enough force or at just the right angle.
Enameling can also chip or scratch when struck. Gemstones and diamonds can scratch other stones and wear away at precious metals. Therefore, avoid stacking those rings and bracelets that would be vulnerable to such abrasion. Extreme temperatures, perfumes, cosmetics and household chemicals can also damage jewelry
Gemstone Care & Enhancement

Our gemstones are inspected for quality, beauty and durability, and only the stones that meet our exacting standards for color, clarity and cut are deemed Be Jolie quality. Gold and Platinum Jewelry Care
We responsibly source gold and platinum. These materials must meet exacting standards in order to be used in our designs.
To preserve the luster of your gold jewelry, avoid exposure to household bleach and other cleaning products, which will quickly cause gold to discolor and possibly disintegrate. We recommend that you store your gold jewelry in a safe place when engaging in these activities:
Household and outdoor chores (i.e., cleaning and gardening)
Showering, bathing or swimming in pools, hot tubs, hot springs and the ocean.
Using lotion, hair products, fragrances and other cosmetics.
Exercising at the gym or during contact sports, Preparing meals.
Diamond, gemstone and pearl jewelry needs to be treated with care. Even a diamond, the world’s hardest material, can be damaged under certain circumstances, and other gemstones are delicate. To prevent damage as much as possible, we recommend that you avoid exposing your diamond, gemstone and pearl jewelry to the following:
Variable temperatures
Perfumes and cosmetics
Ultrasonic cleaning
Household chemicals
Before you put your jewelry on:
Check that the fastening on your necklace or bracelet works without any issues,
Check the central stones by shaking your jewelry slightly. For the pavé, move your finger over the stones. If you hear a faint sound or feel the stones move, we recommend that you do not wear your jewelry and get the setting checked.
Where should I keep my jewelry?
When it isn’t being worn, your jewelry should be kept in its case or wrapped in a soft pouch to protect it from any impact or scratches. Precious jewelry can be scratched when it comes in contact with other jewelry.
We recommend only keeping one piece of jewelry in each case to prevent any kind of friction.
When you put a chain necklace or bracelet away in its box, always make sure you fasten your jewelry first to prevent any knots.
How should I clean my jewelry?
To make the diamonds of your jewelry sparkle, we recommend scrubbing them gently with a small brush with soft bristles in warm water and washing up liquid. This type of cleaning will help remove small dirt and dust particles without damaging your jewelry.
If, despite cleaning, the moving diamonds of your Move jewelry don’t seem to move as well as they used to or if your jewelry is tarnished, feel free to contact us for further advice or repair. Depending on the condition of your jewelry, our Workshop will restore its shine or look into the possibility of new polishing-rhodium plating.
Cleaning Your Diamond Jewelry
Depending on the setting you choose, you can soak your diamond engagement and/or wedding rings for up to 30 minutes in a solution of dishwashing liquid and water. This is best suited to prong and cathedral settings. In pave and basket settings, however, soaking the rings can increase the likelihood of the gems coming loose. Be mindful of this when you decide to soak any jewelry piece use mild dish soap in warm water and soak your jewelry for a few minutes. Using a soft cloth or cotton swab, gently scrub the metal (gold, platinum, silver) and then rinse. Repeat the process if necessary, but always proceed with caution when it comes to soaking jewelry.
For extra shine, you can soak diamonds in window cleaner afterwards. Because glass cleaner contains some harsh chemicals, do not soak for more than a minute at a time, and do not use this process at all with rhodium. To ensure that all of the glass cleaner is rinsed off, use the same mild dish soap solution. Dip your ring into the solution, rinse it with warm water, and then dry it completely.
You can use toothpicks to remove dirt that is lodged in between the prongs and the diamonds, but be extra careful not to scratch the metal or move the positioning of a prong. If fibers from cloth get stuck in the setting, gently use tweezers to remove them. Again, be careful of the metal. Even though diamonds can only be scratched by other diamonds, the precious metals into which they are set can be scratched more easily.
Ionic cleaners can be used on most diamond jewelry. If your engagement ring is set with stones other than diamonds, consider other cleaning methods, as some gemstones are adversely affected by the electrical current in the ionic cleaning process.
When storing your diamond jewelry, be sure to keep it separate from other jewelry. Remember that diamonds can not only scratch any other jewelry you have but can scratch each other as well. Make sure that two diamond pieces are not being stored in such a way that they touch each other.
